Thank you Sherry for the encouraging comment, I went ahead and framed my little 4x6 studies. I like the idea of the frame, small painting in larger format.  Thanks again Sherry.

Today's studies

studying different techniques in watercolor
Today I have been practicing various techniques in watercolor.  I have chose the same scenes, two locations that we have painted during last summer.  Having a great deal of trouble using the masking fluid, and it's application.  It's all so challenging but lots of fun.  Happy Painting everyone.

Frank Ward Melville Park

I have been trying to keep up with my journal entries in between painting in oil. When there isn't enough time in the course of a day to paint, these journal sketches are a great way to sooth the artist soul. I am sure all of you feel the same, when a day goes by without a pen, pencil or brush in hand, it can make an artist very cranky.  This sketch was done in my Stillman&Birn 140lb. Beta Series sketch book.  Excellent paper for watercolor sketching.

My journal entries

Some journal entries

Having a good Saturday.  First it was off to hang paintings at the Astoria Federal Bank in Babylon Village.  A call to the Doctor for my test results that were perfect , Thank God.  Now it is art work while my husband is looking at the movie, White House Down.

So it is back to work for me, tomorrow is a possible snow storm heading our way, where is the Spring.  Well anyway.  Happy Painting everyone.
