Happy Thanksgiving

Cotswold England
Photos for artist

Yesterday during a free moment I took my friend Vic's suggestion and found
some lovely free photos in the Photos4Artist website.
Just playing with some pen and ink and watercolor wash, until I can go out
and find some charming places on Long Island.

Wishing all of you a Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Painting

Trial and Error

Caleb Smith Park Lake
wc on Bockingford Paper

Still experimenting with the bockingford paper.  What seem so wonderful a day ago
is turning out to be not as easy as I thought.  Oh well, yes that is what it is all about
Trial and Error, and maybe someday Success.  Happy Painting everyone.

Falls Abstraction

Experimenting with 140lb. Arches rough watercolor paper

Still working with different papers and brushes.  This was a quick study of  the Arboretum

St. Theresa Chapel

St. Theresa Chapel

I pass the little St. Theresa chapel so many times.  She is one of my favorite saints . She is
also know as the little flower.

Well that aside, just thought it would be really nice to paint.

AH HA! I've Got It!

AH HA moment

After years of trying the Ron Ranson technique with the Hake brush, finally, I understand
how important the paper is to achieve this particular technique.  Not that I will
do many of my paintings like this, but it works.  So therefore, I will do a few
watercolor studies in my folded journal while I wait to order the proper paper.
Blydenburg Park

This little 5x7 watercolor study was done in 2012, I was fascinated with the reflections
in the water.
