Art and Photo tripod easel

This my set up using the w/c tray as a table for my
watercolors and water container, the roll of paper towels
is held in place with a bungee cord. On the very top is a screw for the camera .
Working plein air, I love taking photos of the scene that I am working on and
being able to place the camera to shoot the scene is perfect.
Using my new art and photo tripod to work outdoors
I was working in acrylics

Just doing w/c sketches outdoors

Thanks to my good friend and plein air painter, loved her plein air easel.  After collecting
so many pochade boxes, tripods and french easels, this may be my very favorite.

What I do like about it, it is light, but can be made to stand up to the wind if I
place my back pack on the hook.  I will try to upload a better photo

W/C pan paints.

Watercolor study, using Schmincke pan paints

I have been experimenting with various professional w/c in 1/2 pan sets.  Schmincke and Dale Rowney.  Must say, they are wonderful to use.  Convenient to paint in the home or outdoors.  Very portable, but what I do like about these Paints are the fact that there is no need to worry about the tunes drying out before the Paints are fully used.
I also use the w/c tube Paints that I find useful both in the studio and outdoors, but for now, I really like these pan Paints for floral studies and still life set up in my home.
Happy Painting everyone.

A memory sketch

Playing with gouache on w/c paper.  A memory sketch from Springtime at the Arboretum. We have painted there so many times, trying to develop  a painting from nothing.  I would love to add people strolling down the path, will give it a try.  Nothing to loose.  Happy Painting everyone.

Early Morning Journaling

Early morning journaling

I love starting my day with an entry into one of my journals.  Lately I have inspired to sketch and paint
anything oriental.  My purchases has included Panda bear stuffed animals and bamboo plants.
Happy Painting everyone.

Asian studies

I have been on face book trying to keep up with the February challenge.  I've have done the strada easel challenge in September, the strada easel Challenge in January.  So enough is enough.  Went half way with the challenge this month  I realized that the challenges are okay, but they should just be a means to an end.  Improving one's skills.  In my case it became more of just posting everyday and I began to not care about anything else.  A little counter productive wouldn't you say?

So here I am back to keeping up with my blog, whenever I feel the need to post.  Today was enjoyable, my quest is to improve my drawing skills, work more from life and being inspired by my fellow bloggers.   Happy Painting everyone.

#worldwatercolorgroup day 2

African Violet Plant and Little Teddy

So today is day 2 of the February challenge. Doing these challenges on fb is a great way to
practice and develop drawing and painting skills.  It is a lifelong journey that I totally enjoy.
I am always amazed by the endless possibilities for future paintings. Just paying attention to what surrounds us, works.  Must admit since doing the strada easel challenge I have been on a spending spree, just to set up interesting arrangements to work from life.  My latest is collecting miniature teddy bears, thanks to Susan Bronsak.  Today I ordered Panda bears. lol.  Happy painting everyone.

My new toys

Inspired by Susan Bronsak, I became so excited about purchasing miniature Teddy bears.
I think, no matter how old we get, the child still remains.  Seeing Susan's blog I have already purchased her recommended platinum carbine  pen , which I love.  So a shout out to Susan for sharing her lovely journal.  Happy Painting everyone.
