Let It Be

After struggling all morning with a still life in acrylic it was time to play with watercolor. Let me just say what it is that I love about this medium. No Control, just let it be and do it's own thing. It never ceases to amaze me what happens when you let the paint flow without restrictions from the artist. Happy Painting everyone.

There so much to learn. I am presently trying to get my paypal button under my art work. I succeeded in getting the widget displayed on my right side bar. This is all so very exciting and confusing at the same time. So there you have it, fellow bloggers. My new adventure in the world of selling art on line. I have just signed up with the Daily Paintworks , my thanks to Nora MacPhail-Artist a very talented artist.

New toys and paper and paint test

Last week my new art supplies arrived. The Schminke pan paint box, got a great bargin and to my surprise the company included the 300lb. watercolor block. I also got my new books. Capturing the Moment in Oils by David Curtis, love his work, he also is a great watercolorist.

I experimented with the paper and paint, still have to practice. They were meant for journaling and outdoor painting so I am sure they will do.

Mike and I went to the Sayville Marina. I did this pen and ink and watercolor sketch sitting in the back seat of my car. Will probably go back many more times. There is a method to my madness, in time my goal is to paint large scale paintings from my sketches.

On Wednesdays a group of us meet at the Bayshore Library. It's a watercolor workshop and there is usually a still life set up, but we can paint whatever we choose to work on, great fun. These are my studies from Wednesday.

I have been busy actually working with other artist this week. It seems we all have cabin fever, spring fever all in one week. That has been our weather. One day snow almost 5inches and 2 days later spring like temps in the 50's. We certainly do get a mixed bag of weather conditions on Long Island.

These are some of the work I have been doing. Of course Millers Pond in the sepia ink was lots of fun, but I even managed a little girls sketch in sepia.

Today I loved working my Noodler Ahab pen, using the Noodlers brown ink. The last was ink and a watercolor wash.

This morning sketches, actually the first was a happy little accident. The waterbrush spilled to much water. Love the effect so left it alone.

The second is vinegar and oil set up done with my kuretake zig pen in sepia. I added a little watercolor.

Today I went to the Bayshore Library, there was a watercolor workshop and the first sketch is of my friends painting the still life set up. This morning my day was started sketching in my moleskine. I sketched my two Noodler pens, waterbrush and pencil case.

Garage Finds daily journal

Don't know what I am doing, can't seem to get the words in the correct place. The top is a quick sketch done on location at The Grange Park in Sayville. The second is what I worked on this morning. Things that were purchased at garage sales in the 90's. The lower is my mini paints on the hood of my car. With the little sketch. I will probably do more work from my digital photo.

I am so new to this daily journaling. After being so inspired by Cathy Johnson and Urben sketches, decided to start another blog. So today will be the start of hopefully a new adventure.
